September 2024

Dear donors, supporters and volunteers,

A very painful loss

We are stunned and saddened to say goodbye to our esteemed President Dänel Brunner. He passed away on 17 August 2024 as a result of heart failure.

This is a very painful loss not easy to overcome.

Dänel gave everything for Nepal and invested a lot of time. He loved the people, their culture and made many friends there. The well-being of the population for a better future was very close to his heart. Also the pilots and Sherpas benefited greatly from his skills as «Captain Brunner», as they called him.

Dänel designed and built the Khorlabesi health centre and put his heart and soul into it. You could say he lived for this project. He was on site for many days, even weeks, following and monitoring everything and wanted to travel back to Nepal for a longer period of time in the next few days to complete the project for the planned opening on 20 November 2024. Unfortunately, he will not be able to do so.

At the last meeting we decided to postpone the opening of the medical centre until 2025, partly out of consideration for Dänel. On the other hand, it is not possible for us to settle all outstanding issues by this date.

The Nepal project will continue thanks to many volunteers and supporters, and we will do everything we can to continue it in Dänel's spirit. We owe this to our donors, patrons, volunteers and, above all, to Dänel. The Earth C-Air association was founded in 2015 and will continue, unfortunately without Dänel. However, we will immortalise him in Nepal and at the hospital in some way, he will always be in our thoughts.

At the moment, we still have a lot of work ahead of us. With our volunteers and supporters, we will try to manage this in Dänel's spirit.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported us in the past and will continue to support us in the future.

Namaste und vielen Dank! Merci! Grazie! Thank you!
